The way programming should be!
"The quick alerts are really helpful since I am spared of the time-consuming task to double-check the codes after the program's test run. Any programmer can empathize with me in saying that wading through pages and pages of codes really takes the fun out of this science. Oh, and the red highlights aren't so bad either." - Mikey

Version DC Data Entry Validator
DataEntry Validator
DC DataEntry Validator is a program development solution that lets you check data entry according to your own preferences. It lets you validate text as you type, limit data to specific characters, and define your own restrictions. This makes programming a breeze, whether you're writing a simple script or a complex application. With DataEntry Validator, you can spend more time coding and less time looking for errors.
Customizable entry DataEntry Validator can be set to accept numeric characters from 0 to 9, and alphabetic characters in upper and lower case. You can also define numbers in decimal places and set date fields in dd/mm/yyyy format. Multiple fields can be separated by commas and labelled with alphanumeric names, such as "FirstNames" and "FamilyName."
Quick alerts When your entry does not match your definitions, DataEntry Validator alerts you by changing the foreground color to red. Since the alert appears in the foreground, you can spot errors as you make them - not after you test-run the program and have to wade through pages of code.
Works with all languages DataEntry Validator can be used with all COM-based applications such as Delphi, Visual Basic, Borland C++, and Visual Basic C++. It only takes a few lines of code to set the definitions for the entire program, so you don't have to keep returning to your Form Load event as you code. Easy installation and operation DataEntry Validator installs automatically on Windows 98, NT, 2000, and XP. There's no need to open the file separately - the program loads by itself when you open your application.
Testimonials "I love programming, and I take pride in being 'fluent' with COM-based applications like Visual Basic C++, Visual Basic, Delphi , and Borland C++. And it is such a pleasant surprise to discover that DataEntry Validator is compatible with different programming languages. The time it saved me in setting the definitions for the entire program is really helpful." - Astrid "One of the nuances of programming lies on how picky it could be in its use of characters. Some would rather use the numerical ones rather than those coming from the alphabet. Sometimes, it even requires the use of symbols I don't understand. But with DataEntry Validator, I am able to set the date in its normal dd/mm/yy format." - Ice "I am quite new in programming, and some colleagues have cautioned that programmers like us need to have an endless supply of patience. Of course, that statement left me amused and wondering about its meaning. Inevitably, I soon found out that my co-workers may have been referring to the very demanding and time-consuming requirement of double-checking the codes I have already written. Too bad because I have to run the program first before I can discover if I have made some errors in the coding process, after which I will have to sift through pages and pages of codes to find one little error. And this is where DataEntry Validator comes in handy, because it can quickly alert me if I have made a coding error right after typing it. Also, it is compatible to different COM-based applications that whatever you may be using, chances are you can also benefit from DateEntry Validator." - Greg
